LangSEO ("we", "our", or "us") operates the LangSEO Shopify application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you install and use our app.

Information We Collect

When you install LangSEO, we access the following data from your Shopify store through the Shopify API:

• Store information — your store name, domain, and primary locale settings
• Store content — product titles, descriptions, collection details, page content, blog articles, navigation menus, policies, metafields, and theme content that you choose to translate
• Translation data — existing translations and translatable content retrieved via Shopify's GraphQL Admin API

We do not collect personal information about your customers, payment details, or order data.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to provide the translation service:

• AI translation — your store content is sent to OpenAI's API (GPT-4o) to generate translations. Content is sent only when you initiate a translation.
• Translation storage — translated content is written back to your Shopify store via Shopify's translation API. We also store translation job history locally to show progress and logs.
• Settings & glossary — your configured glossary rules, AI model preferences, and product scope settings are stored to provide consistent translations.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate LangSEO:

• OpenAI API — to generate AI-powered translations. Your store content is sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI's data usage policy applies: openai.com/policies/api-data-usage-policies. OpenAI does not use API inputs/outputs for model training.
• Shopify API — to read your store content and write translations back to your store.
• Fly.io — our application hosting provider. Data is stored in secure, encrypted infrastructure.

Data Storage & Security

• Translation job history and app settings are stored in a secure database on our server.
• Your Shopify access token is stored securely and used only to communicate with Shopify's API on your behalf.
• All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties beyond what is described above.

Data Retention

• Translation job logs and settings are retained as long as the app is installed on your store.
• When you uninstall the app, your access token is revoked by Shopify. You may contact us to request deletion of any remaining data.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about your store
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent by uninstalling the app

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
